Meet Our Winery Dogs
Wesley
OUR GUARD DOG
Age: 12 years old
Likes: Walks through the Vineyard and scratches behind his ears
Where to Find Him: Guarding the front door of our winery or chasing the deer from our vineyard.
His Story: Wesley was found scavenging for food and was very timid of strangers. Using some bacon, the Winery Owner coaxed Wesley into the car and got him the care that he needed. Wesley found his forever home and he is inseparable from this owner. He comes to the winery everyday and immediately must go for his morning walk through the vineyard. Once he has done his sweep of the vines, he takes position at our front door to greet our guests.
Sassy
MS. SASSY PANTS
Age: 11 years old
Likes: Licking empty yogurt cartons and chewing on bones
Where to Find Her: Sitting by our General Managers desk. She is the power woman in our Winery and makes sure all these boys are in line.
Her Story: Sassy arrived at the SPCA after being found in a Wine Barrel in Oliver. She was pregnant with a litter of puppies and had been badly abused by her previous owners that they were unsure if she would survive giving birth. Receiving love and care from our General Manager, Sassy survived the pregnancy and gave birth to nine healthy puppies. With her health a concern, are GM continued to foster Sassy and day by day she gained strength putting on weight, adapting to this new-found life. Today, Sassy is enjoying her later years by sitting outside on the back deck enjoying the glorious Okanagan weather.
Eddie
GENTLE GAINT
Age: 7 years old
Likes: Belly scratches and tennis balls
Where to Find Him: Sunbathing on our Crush Pad. He is starting to get some tan lines but it only highlights his tiger strips.
His Story: Eddie was found on the side of the road in Saskatchewan as a small puppy. Those who found him decided to give him a good home that provided him lots of attention. Eddie has a million-dollar smile and loves to have his belly rubbed. On the days that he visits the winery he enjoys laying around our crush pad enjoying the views of Skaha Lake and running around our tank room with his tennis ball.
